Labor Day Love, Salvaged Shelf, & Fantasy Football

I hope each of you enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend!  I also hope you have the day off!

I'm thankful for having this day off after being back in school for about 3 weeks.  The beginning of the year always kicks my takes me a bit to get back into the routine.  I'm almost there, but having an extra day off is absolutely fabulous!

Of course, I'll be spending most of my day blogging, creating products, printing, cutting, and laminating, but at least I can do all of that while in my PJs!!!

I want to show you a little project I worked on last weekend.  It was super quick and easy...and cheap.

I so needed another bookshelf in my classroom and I so did not want to buy one {since I've spent a mint already!}.

I came across this old shelf and decided to give it a little facelift.

I really like how it turned out!  For about $3, it's not too bad.  It only took about 15 minutes for the spray paint to dry and about 2 minutes to apply the tape.

I wanted the shelf the tie in with my classroom decor - hence the 3 rolls of tape.  I only covered the front edge since the books I planned to put on it would cover the rest of the shelf area.

I completely forgot to take pictures of the shelf in my classroom {duh}, but I'll share that later.

On another note, I'm in the Top Teacher Showdown Fantasy Football League this year!  I LOVE some football and have watched it all my life.  I even played quite a bit of back yard football since I was the only girl in my neighborhood growing up...I was always the QB!  I went to every football game during my High School career AND I've been to every one for the past 8 years as a band mom/chaperone.

However - this is all a far cry from having a top-notch Fantasy Football team!  I've never participated in FF, but I've wanted to the last several years.  I decided I might be able to hold my own against en entire group of teacher bloggers.  LOL!

Our league will hold our draft tonight at 7 Eastern.  So, send me some positive brain waves and happy thoughts around that time!!!

I'll keep you posted on how my team is doing.  {Hopefully, I won't be in last place!}

Do you play Fantasy Football?  Any tips to share with me?

  1. My sister got me hooked on Fantasy Football a couple of years ago. I have four teams this year! Tip #1: Take running backs in early rounds. Tip #2: Wait to choose a defense and kicker until the last rounds. Good luck!!
