Well
guys, we have arrived at the end. I have
thoroughly enjoyed each and every aspect of this book!
Without
at doubt, this has been the best content-based professional book I have ever
read. I am so, so very glad that I was
able to take part in this book study!
Chapter
9 was short and sweet. It served to get
us ready and give us the last little bit of motivation to implement this
program in our classrooms. I’ve told you
in each and every chapter review I’ve written how excited I am to start using
the Guided Math principles in my classroom this year, so it should come as no
surprise that I still feel that way.
I
return to school in just a couple of weeks and my mind is racing at 100 miles
per hour thinking how I need to get everything set up, what can stay the same
and what needs to be tweaked, how I will work within the lesson plans and
timeline I have to follow at my school to make this work, and how good it’s
going to feel when this turns out to be the best thing I’ve ever done in my
classroom!
Throughout
the book, I have highlighted quite a bit of text, but there are a few passages
here and there that really stood out to me and I am quite sure I’ll be going
back to those passages again and again throughout the upcoming year.
I
hope you have enjoyed taking part in, or at least following along with, this
book study! I’ve never been in an online
book study before, but this has been a wonderful learning experience.
Thank
you so much for the comments you’ve left and the questions and comments you’ve
e-mailed me during this time! They meant
a lot to me.
I
plan to keep you updated on how the implementation plays out over the next
couple of months. I would LOVE to hear
from you as well. Let us know if you’re
doing Guided Math and how it’s going.
Let’s share questions, comments, concerns, and even the good, the bad,
and the ugly. Realistically, I’m sure
there will be some of all of that!
I
wish you the best of luck if you’re giving it a try!
Enjoy
J
I'm just like you...my mind is going 100 mph! I've tweaked a few things & have my weekly schedule nailed down. Just typed it all up yesterday. My next task is to get my focus wall figured out & up.
