I'm Baaack & A New Book Study Blog for Teachers

Hey guys!

I feel like it's been forever since I blogged.  It has been 2 weeks so I guess that's close enough!

The last couple weeks of school were CRAZY as always followed by 2 days of post-planning and a day-long co-teaching class.

I also think I had a sleeping sickness for the last few days!  I absolutely COULD.NOT.STAY.AWAKE!!!

Hopefully, I'm all rested up and ready to join the blogosphere once again.  {Thanks for hanging around!}


I've got several things to share with you over the next week or so in the regular weekly features, but....


First I want to share a brand-new, unique blog that I'd very proud to be taking part in!



This is a book study blog for Upper Elementary teachers, which we're calling grades 3 - 7 since I'm taking part!  The first 2 books we will be reading are The Daily 5 and CAFE.  They were both written by "The Sisters" ~ Gail Boushey and Joan Moser.

Now I know these are not what you typically think of when you're a middle school teacher, but I'm all for learning new things and who doesn't love a good strategy that {hopefully} can be adapted to other grade levels.  Also, with the literacy standards that are now part of Common Core, it certainly won't hurt to brush up on some reading strategies!
I will be hosting a chapter from The Daily 5 so I'd love for you to join us!  The book study officially begins July 1st, so you still have time to gather the books.  We plan to do other book studies at this blog in the future as well!
