Pi Day Link-Up {ALL Grades}

March 14th is better known as Pi Day to math geeks around the world!

I LOVE Pi Day and all the math fun that comes along with it!!

I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to all things Pi called Pi R Squared. :-)

I decided to do a Pi Day Link-Up to give everyone a chance to share their awesome ideas {because I know you have some} AND to give us a great menu of choices if we're looking to change it up a bit this year.

I'll do a full-scale post on Pi Day a little later, but for now let me just share 2 quick things I've done it the past.

        Have a contest to see who can memorize the most digits of Pi {some students really
        get into this}.

        Read Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi by Cindy Neuschwander before doing a
        math task.  {I highly recommend her entire A Math Adventure Series...they are
        amazingly fun!}

{Here's a set with 3 of her books that will save you a bit of cash!}

This Link-Up is open to ALL grade levels and ALL contents!  No matter who or what you teach, if you have a Pi Day post, link it right on up!

You know what to do:

  • Write a blog post about a lesson, activity, or task you have taught or would like to teach using Pi in some way.
  • Copy the Pi Day Link-Up image above and paste it into your post.
  • Link up below by pasting the link to the actual blog post, not your entire blog.
  • Share the news with others!

As several other bloggers have done lately, I've created a collaborative Pinterest board for this Pi Day Link-Up.  If you'd like to join, leave a comment with your Pinterest link so I can add you.  This board can be added to at any time you see another great idea!

Depending or participation, I may have enough ideas to create an e-book that you can offer to your readers when we're all done {with you as a contributing author}!

Enjoy :)

Making It {and smiling},

  1. Hi Michelle, Thank you for hosting this party. Enjoy Pi Day.

  2. You're welcome, Mary! Hope you can find some useful information here. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave me a comment!

    Have a wonderful day :)

  3. I love that you created a Linky for Pi day! I'm not sure I'll have anything to contribute since I have preschoolers ;) but I'll pin this and pass the word along.
    I love your idea to have students try to memorize as many digits of pi as they can.

  4. I love Pi Day! I just joined the Linky (my very first) and am very excited to be part of the party. My blog has an explanation of what I do and the file for my Pi Day Edible MAth Centers.

    Thanks for throwing the party.
