Science Saturday {with a FREEBIE} ~ Scientific Method Coin Lab

As you read this, I am blissfully enjoying a weekend away with my husband {it's OK to be a tad jealous}!

Science Saturday for this week is from way back at the beginning of the school year when I teach Scientific Method to my 7th graders.  After we've discussed it, I complete a couple of quick labs with them, that also happen to be pretty fun, where they have to apply the Scientific Method just like a real scientist would in a real laboratory.

This is one of their favorite labs we do!

It's called Scientific Method Coin Lab.  There are lots of versions out there and I have no idea who to give the original credit to, but this is one I created for my students.

Here are some pictures of my students having a great time in science class doing hands-on, cooperative learning...and isn't that what it's all about! :)

I tried to get a good shot of the surface tension just as it was breaking, but that proved rather difficult to do!

This will a little scary to try with the water being so all over the room, but they did a great job and worked very carefully!  These little bathroom cups were a perfect size to use.

So, if you'd like to give this fun, quick lab a shot, you can download the instructions and lab sheet for FREE at my Making It Teacher TPT Store!

Click on the image below to go straight to this item in my store.

Hurry over and get yours now.

Enjoy :)
