I'm a math nerd!! However, I also love science AND math and science go together so well!
I thought it would be fun to spotlight some cool activities where these contents collide.
This lab, Finding the Percent of Salt in Sea Water at Algebra Lab, caught my eye because TI-84 graphing calculators were used. There are quite a few steps involved, but the instructions are very clear and the keystrokes are displayed nicely.
Here's what you'll need:
- 25-mL syringe
- prepared solutions of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5% salt water
- a sample of seawater
- TI-84 graphing calculator
I would LOVE to do this lab in my classroom! This would be fun to take some video of as well.
If you give it a whirl, come back and let me know how it went!!!
