My summer break is over half-way done, so I'm finding myself thinking about different things.
Instead of sleeping in, in remembering the awful sound of the alarm clock at 4:30 a.m.
In place of pjs and comfy clothes will be professional attire and shoes, of all things!
No more eating whenever at a leisurely pace, but it will be back to standing up for lunch duty while shoving food in my mouth.
Gone will be the days of reading for pleasure and surfing the web because I'll have to prepare lesson plans and grade stacks and stacks of papers.
I can say good-bye to all the family time and hello to crazy afternoon schedules and hurried-up suppers.
However, I am grateful that, as a teacher, I do get the chance to enjoy my summers and other holidays. AND I am looking forward to heading back to the grind, getting my classroom set up, meeting my new students, and teaching my favorite subject - math!!!
I'll enjoy these next few weeks, for I fear they will pass very quickly. I will also enjoy the 10 months after that and hope they will be smooth and successful!
